Holding And Reading Your Copy In A Camera AuditionHolding and Reading Your Copy in a Camera AuditionBefore an audition it is a good idea to bring a clipboard or a magazine to keep a flimsy sheet stiff. When holding your copy, hold it either straight on to the camera or slightly of to the side, making sure it is held at chest level and tipped slightly back towards the floor. You may wish to use two hands and use your left thumb as a guide when you read. However even though this is called a reading, it doesn’t mean that you should just stand their reading to your copy, deliver the line confidently to the camera in complete phrases. Do not drop your head to look at the lines, keep your head at the camera level and only use your eyes to glance down at the copy. Finally when delivering your reading, speak to the camera as if it was a person.
