Description
The Oxford School of Drama, founded in 1981, is an independent school which runs vocational acting courses.
The School accepts only a small number of students so if we offer you a place you can be confident that we believe you will succeed. Provided you do your bit, we will all work hard to make that happen, and you will receive the personal attention necessary to help nourish and develop your individual skills.
At the end of the course, you will be one of a small number of graduating students, rather than one in a group of thirty or more, as is the case at most graduate showcases.
If you decide to apply to The Oxford School of Drama, you must find in yourself a real commitment to theatre, much physical and imaginative energy, and endless staying power.
“Being an actor is not difficult, but to become an outstanding actor is demanding. Demanding of your spirit, heart, but most of all your humanity. Only if you, the student, and we, your teachers, acknowledge this can we meet the needs of this profession and create actors for the future. All good drama schools will teach you the skills an actor needs – few will go further than this.”
